Dr. Marsh loves old cars!!! Loves to drive them, look at them, work on them and talk about them with others. As this page develops, it will contain pictures of cars he owns, updates on what he's doing with them, and information about resources for old car parts, ideas for using cars as tools for evangelism and ministry, and links to other web sites. |

Using Antique, Classic and Custom Cars as Ministry Tools |

Try using your car as a display at a swap meet, car show or raceway ministry event. For example, Dr. Marsh drives a 1970 Chevy Nova that belonged to his grandmother, Ella Nelson, until she went home to be with the Lord a few years ago. Now it's not a show car, but it is in excellent condition and is practically all original, with 66,000 miles on it. He has displayed it a local car shows (Sonic Drive-In), and at the Raceway Ministries site at Texas Motor Speedway during race events. It usually catches an eye or two, so while people are looking, it provides an opportunity to talk with them and hand them a tract Dr. Marsh has produced, entitled, "Mee-Maw's Nova." The tract describes how Mrs. Nelson took immaculate care of the car, down to the most minute detail. And, she not only took care of the car, but when she passed from this life, she had taken care of the most important detail of life--trusting Jesus to prepare for eternity. The reader is challenged with the question--"Mee-maw took care of everything!! Have you?" Another example is the tract, "It's Only a Car," written by Tony Edwards, who has restores cars has owned several very nice ones. In that tract, Tony indicates that cars are only a material possessions that are not nearly as important as people for whom God sent Jesus and for whom Jesus died. The tract encourages readers to consider that cars are only things that one day will pass away, and the most important thing they should do is consider their relationship with God in Christ. |
